Director's Notes

Role: Intern Writer

In early 2017, I had the opportunity to work for the highly respected independent film website, Director's Notes.

Although I only wrote for the site for a short period, I was able to gain a lot of knowledge and had the privilege to interview talented filmmakers across the world.

A highlight was being able to interview Director, Carlos Lopez Estrada (Blindspotting) on his music video for "Stick to Your Guns" by Watsky, an artist whose music I've come to adore since.

The role included me searching for unique and original films on Vimeo, which really helped to expand my horizons to the wealth of diverse stories being made that I wasn't aware of previously.

YouTube Channel

Time: August 2014-March 2017

Genre: Football

Watch Here

Created in 2014, I set up this channel as a side passion project to share my views on the football club I support, Chelsea.  Growing up in West London and coming from a family who've supported the club for generations, its a big part of my life and who I am.

Posting match previews and reviews to begin with, I started to gain a following, improving production quality whilst collaborating with other content creators on the platform to expand the channel's name, reaching 1K subscribers by October of 2015.

With a lot of hyperbolic, outlandish content on YouTube regarding the sport, I felt there was a gap for a calmer, reasoned, in-depth type of channel as an alternative. Despite having to stop due to commitments to filmmaking and University, the channel sparked a journey into football media that hasn't stopped, leading me to meet and work with great people.

One of the biggest collaborations I did was with the Chelsea fan channel, "100PercentChelsea". Joining not long after its inception in early 2015, I became a regular voice on the channel, eventually getting the chance to host and present.

I represented the channel on a large Live Stream featuring many creators in January of 2016. Due to commitments to filmmaking and other circumstances, I finished my time with the channel in Spring 2016.

In June 2019 I relaunched the channel, hoping to grow it bigger and better than before.

90Min Football News

90Min Football News

Role: Writer

Time: May-September 2018

Over the summer of 2018 I had the opportunity to intern with 90Min Football, a well-known news site regarding the sport.

During my four-month period with the site I published 104 articles, that garnered over 900,000 reads. From most of my other previous work in football media, the time at 90Min tasked me with covering all types of clubs, with all types of news stories - helping me to learn more and improve my writing.

Along with news pieces and lists, the site also presented the opportunity to create opinion pieces and in-depth match reports, which put me on a tight deadline which was eye-opening and helped test my skills.

Chelsea Echo

Chelsea Echo

Role: Writer/Editor

Time:  December 2018-Present

In late 2018 I was invited to join a new Chelsea website founded by Simon Phillips (Writer for Transfer News Centre, Chelsea Fancast, Telegraph Football) to share my views on the club. The site has grown exponentially in a short period of time and features a wide range of views from Chelsea fans across the world, from all walks of life.

Despite the Echo being barely six months old, it has already been nominated for "Best New Content Creator" at the Football Blogging Awards. The site's writers have also appeared on national radio stations like "TalkSport" and international TV shows like "Premier League Today".

Interviewing ex-Chelsea players Pat Nevin, Jason Cundy and Gavin Peacock, online the Echo has gained a positive reputation of trust and respect within the fanbase.

It has given me the chance to keep my passion for sharing my views on the club going, whilst being a great opportunity that has already brought many new connections and positives; helping me to fulfill a passion of mine in writing.
